X-Ray Technician Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an X-Ray Technician for weekend shifts in Rochester, NY. This is a local position requiring on-site presence.

Schedule

• Friday 10:30 AM to Midnight
• Saturday 8:00 AM to Midnight
• Sunday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• 36 hours preferred (40 hours considered)
• 2–3 on-call shifts per month with 30-minute callback requirement

Your Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders before procedures
• Operate x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images of bones, tissues, and organs
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions
• Position patients appropriately, including those with limited mobility
• Handle radiologic equipment safely while minimizing patient dose
• Observe patient status and interpret age-specific needs
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist review
• Use electronic patient information systems and dual patient identifier procedures
• Maintain accurate records and proper image identification

Required Qualifications

• ARRT certification and completion of approved radiologic technology program
• NYS technician license or ability to obtain prior to start date
• 2 years of x-ray technologist experience
• Level 1 trauma center experience
• Recent operating room experience at a trauma 1 center
• C-arm/O-arm experience within the past 8 months
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Local candidates only

Compensation

• Weekly pay: $2,316.60
• Assignment duration: 89 days
• Start date: June 22, 2026
