Job Details:

• Perform computed tomography procedures and related diagnostic imaging techniques
• Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• May be required to alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call
• May be asked to flex hours and work overtime as necessary to provide quality patient care
• Perform diagnostic CT procedures as primary responsibility
• If assigned radiographer duties, also perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams
• Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure information is documented and available for radiologist use
• Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety
• Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures
• Position patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort, and immobilize patient as necessary
• Practice aseptic technique as necessary
• Prepare and administer contrast media as appropriate; start and maintain intravenous access
• Initiate basic life support action when necessary
• Provide patient education
• Provide input for supply and equipment decisions and maintain control of inventory and supplies for assigned area
• Provide practical instruction for students and partners
• Observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers
• Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients
• Graduate of an accredited radiography program required; education verification required
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience required
• ARRT Radiography registration required
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration required
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required
