PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Progressive Care Unit with 1:5 patient ratios
• 2 years of nursing experience required, with previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Float between MSI units (Med/Surg, Telemetry, Medical-Intermediate) and Emergency Department for inpatient holding as needed
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in 31-bed unit
• Work with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line management
• Manage patients with post-cardiac procedures, cardiac catheterization, hemodialysis, and various medical conditions
• Experience required in cardiac drip titration, heparin protocols, PCA management, and wound care
• Must be comfortable with chest tubes, tracheostomy care, high flow nasal cannula, and procedural sedation
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses required or compact license
