Medical Lab Technician Job in Lincoln, ME

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a 13-week travel assignment at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, ME. This is a full-time role offering three 12-hour day shifts per week, with rotating weekend coverage approximately every fifth weekend.

Assignment Details

• Weekly pay: $1,708.20
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week following an initial training week
• Shift pattern: Day shifts with rotating weekend assignments
• Thursday night shift fill-in opportunities available
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday rotation in place
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts within the 12-week period

Your Responsibilities

You will perform laboratory testing and specimen processing in a hospital medical lab setting. You will handle phlebotomy duties, Blood Bank testing, and microbiology work including gram stains, culture planting, and blood culture procedures. You must work independently while managing multiple priorities, communicate clearly with the clinical team, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program
• Current licensure or certification as an MT or MLT
• Proficiency in phlebotomy
• Ability to perform Blood Bank testing
• Microbiology experience preferred; if no microbiology background, you must demonstrate competency in gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a clinical laboratory setting
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently
