PCU Registered Nurse Job in Omaha, NE

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Progressive Care Unit at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a 112-day travel assignment starting August 31, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts (6:30 PM to 6:30 AM) and an every-other-weekend requirement.

Unit Details

• 55-bed PCU on 4th Floor East Wing
• Adult patient population; pediatric patients rare and must be 15 years or older
• 1:4 RN patient ratio for both day and night shifts
• Common diagnoses: CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, generalized weakness

Clinical Requirements

• Telemetry competency required
• Experience with PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin drips
• IV pump proficiency with Alaris equipment
• Charting in EPIC EMR system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Staffing Support

You will have access to nursing assistants, charge nurses, educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT on your unit. Float capability is required, ideally to medical-surgical areas based on highest need.

Expectations

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care departments
• BSN not required
• Pass/fail open book orientation exam with minimum 90% passing score
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• Valid driver's license required at submission

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,436.48
