Opportunity:
Sleep Tech - Polysomnographer
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule follows a rotating pattern of Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday every other week
• 3 shifts per 12-hour nights per week
• Shift is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, except on Tuesday and Friday when shift begins at 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM for home sleep setups
• Every other weekend required, with possibility of additional weekend shifts as needed
• Off on all major holidays including Christmas Eve, Halloween, Easter, and New Year's Eve
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Maximum 3 days of requested time off
• Monitor and perform sleep studies on patients under the direction of a physician
• Record and measure electrical potentials and other physiologic events
• Maintain recording devices and analyze and prepare reports of studies
• Recognize and appropriately respond to critical events that may arise during a study
• Oversee setting up of patients for sleep evaluation and home sleep setup
• Work with Cadwell sleep equipment and software and TruBridge - Evident charting system
• Patient population includes adults and pediatric patients ages 3 and older with diagnoses such as obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea
• 2:1 patient-to-provider ratio with an average of 4 patients per day
• 3 nights of orientation per week for up to 2 weeks
• Inter-scorer Reliability (ISR) required every month for quality measurement
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue scrub top with black pants or all royal blue
• Must have 1 year of sleep lab experience
• Basic computer skills required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) via BRPT
• New Mexico CPSGT/RPSGT/RRT-SDS/CRT-SDS/Trainee license required at time of submission
• Certificate of completion from an accredited School of Clinical Polysomnography required
• Thorough understanding of respiratory function required
