Physical Therapist Job in Austin, TX

You will join South Austin Hospital, a 364-bed acute care facility, as a Physical Therapist on a 13-week contract. This is a day shift position working Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with one weekend per month and compensatory time during the week. No call requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting patient evaluations and establishing discharge recommendations
• Delivering treatments aligned with established goals across all hospital units
• Working with a team of 18 physical therapy staff members (10–12 PTs weekdays, 6–8 PTs weekends)
• Documenting and managing patient care using the Meditech EMR system

You will bring acute care experience and skills to this role. Preferred qualifications include trauma and vestibular therapy experience. The team specializes in trauma, cardiac, oncology, and critical care patients, giving you exposure to diverse clinical populations.

Requirements:

• Physical Therapist licensure
• BLS certification
• Acute care experience

Compensation: $2,044 per week.

What to expect: You will work in a collaborative environment with experienced physical therapy colleagues. Dress code is black pants with olive green tops. This 13-week assignment begins June 15, 2026.
