RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in a 17-bed medical surgical telemetry unit
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio with maximum of 4 patients per nurse
• Available for 36 or 48 hours per week for 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend required with block scheduling not guaranteed
• Must adhere to float policy within scope of practice
• BLS required, ACLS preferred but not required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must have Virginia license in hand by Wednesday before start date
• BSN preferred with Nursys verification required for submittal
• 40-hour orientation provided with up to 16 hours of non-billable modules
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off per contract (no time off approved for Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Care for patients with diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, wounds, drains, and tubes
• Work with overhead ceiling lifts and peritoneal dialysis equipment
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounding with physicians, social work, case management, and pharmacy
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, medication administration, wound care, IV management, and assessment of various medical conditions
