Respiratory Therapist Job in Sacramento, CA

Sutter Health Medical Center Sacramento is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 3x12-hour day shifts with every other weekend coverage required.

About the Role

You will provide respiratory care across multiple units, including telemetry adult floors, emergency department, and pediatric floors. The emergency department is high-volume with critical patients ranging from birth through geriatric ages. Your responsibilities will include mechanical ventilation management, BiPAP/CPAP setup and monitoring, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy, intubation and extubation assistance, arterial blood gas interpretation and draws, tracheostomy care and management, bronchoscopy support, chest physiotherapy, aerosol treatments, and weaning patients from mechanical ventilation. You will also assist with patient transport and provide care across adult and pediatric critical care settings.

Required Qualifications

• Current RRT credential
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• Knowledge and experience treating pediatric patients
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Current BLS, PALS, NRBC, and California RRT certifications (AHA or ARC only)

Compensation and Assignment Details

This position offers $2,314.14 per week. Your assignment runs for 91 days, beginning November 16, 2026. You will be placed at Sutter Health Medical Center Sacramento, a well-established facility in California's capital.
