Histology Technician Job in Charleston, SC

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Histology Technician for a 91-day travel assignment at MUSC Health Charleston beginning June 29, 2026. You will work the night shift, 5 days per week on an 8-hour schedule.

Role Overview

You will perform routine and complex histologic procedures including processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry. Your responsibilities include conducting quality control on completed slides, identifying problems that may affect diagnosis, and recording observations from tests. You will also document maintenance of instruments and equipment using the Epic charting system.

Schedule & Facility Details

• Shift: Night schedule, Monday through Friday, 5 days per week (8-hour shifts)
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required—work exclusively on the Charleston campus
• Holiday rotation required
• Occasional weekend requirement
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• During hurricane season (June–November), you may be assigned to emergency response teams

Qualifications

• 3–5 years full-time histology experience required
• Embedding and microtomy skills required
• Current BLS certification
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification by ASCP BOC required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in histotechnology, biology, or related scientific discipline; QIHC certification

• Weekly pay: $1,785.60
