CVICU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a registered nurse for a travel position in the CVICU at CHRISTUS Childrens Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time role with the possibility of transitioning to permanent employment.

Position Details

• Specialty: CVICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit)
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Duration: 91 days
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• Weekly Pay: $2,102.40

Your Responsibilities

You will provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Your duties include administering medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness, managing chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions. You will address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, document patient history and care given, assess learning needs, and provide education to patients and caregivers. You will also make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed.

Required Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
• Pediatric cardiac critical care experience including chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of critical care experience (new graduates will be considered)
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

You must attend New Nurses Orientation within your first 30 days of hire and complete annual competency verification requirements.
