Occupational Therapy Assistant Job in Seymour, TX

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) for a 91-day travel assignment at Avir at Seymour, a long-term care facility in Seymour, Texas. This is a day shift position working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with no on-call or weekend requirements.

About the Role

You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver patient-centered therapy in a long-term care setting. Your responsibilities include:

• Execute specialized therapy plans, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve motor skills and coordination
• Teach patients Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating, using adaptive techniques as appropriate
• Instruct patients and families on the use of adaptive equipment including reachers, mobility aids, and modified kitchen utensils
• Document detailed progress notes, behavioral observations, and safety concerns, reporting findings to the supervising OT to inform treatment plan adjustments
• Provide emotional support to patients and train caregivers on home program assistance
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, clean equipment, and handle administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing support

Qualifications

• Current Texas state license or compact license required
• Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in a long-term care (LTC) setting
• Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience preferred

Assignment Details

Start date: September 14, 2026. Duration: 91 days. Weekly pay: $1,641.60. Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts.
