Operating Room RN Job in Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse for its operating room in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. You will work a 3x12 schedule, with 12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. This position is available for 89 days, with a start date of July 13, 2026.

Your Role

You will implement professional nursing practice centered on patient-focused care. Your responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level in care planning. You will identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints, collecting both objective and subjective patient data.

You will develop prioritized problem lists based on inter-professional team input and design interventions relevant to patient culture and age. As an OR nurse, you will implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy, explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families, and recognize and respond to changes in patient condition appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members
• Monitor accuracy of delegated patient care activities
• Identify and address patient educational needs
• Facilitate discharge processes and coordinate with Case Management
• Participate in unit-based activities supporting organizational values
• Engage in quality improvement activities and core measures monitoring
• Document ongoing assessments and responses according to hospital policy
