Mammography Technologist Job in Elmira, NY

Arnot Ogden Medical Center (AOMC) in Elmira, NY is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a travel assignment. This is a day shift position with hours varying from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, working 5 days per week for 8-hour shifts. The assignment runs for 91 days, with a start date of July 5, 2026. Weekly pay is $3,212.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform breast imaging procedures using current mammography techniques
• Demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and intervention by licensed practitioners
• Apply x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients
• Maintain accurate medical records while respecting patient confidentiality and established policies
• Assume responsibility for your assigned area and report any equipment malfunctions promptly
• Provide practical instruction for students and other healthcare professionals
• Participate actively in the department's quality assessment and improvement initiatives
• Maintain control of inventory and ensure proper care of mammography equipment, including compression devices
• Observe Universal precautions and maintain knowledge of infection control protocols
• Apply strong patient relations skills and provide appropriate, compassionate patient care
• Pursue continuing education opportunities to stay current in your field

Required qualifications:

• Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited radiography program or equivalent
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography and mammography
• Valid state license to practice Radiologic Technology
• Demonstrated experience as a mammographer with the knowledge base to successfully complete breast procedures
