PACU RN Job in Portland, ME

You will provide post-anesthesia care in a 23-hour overnight pod at MMC-P Bramhall Campus in Portland, Maine. This is a night shift role working 3x12-hour shifts with 48 hours of guaranteed weekly hours preferred (36 hours acceptable).

Your responsibilities:

• Deliver Phase 1 PACU care with a 2:1 patient ratio, managing up to 3–4 patients during their overnight 23-hour stay
• Care for complete patients recovering from Cath, EP, OR, and Vascular procedures, including TAVR and GYN cases
• Monitor and manage short-stay patients requiring overnight observation
• Operate IV pumps, PCAs, epidurals, arterial lines, telemetry monitoring, and TEE/CV equipment
• Float to PACU, IMC, or ICU as needed
• Read telemetry strips and manage cardiac drips, groin care, and EKG interpretation

Schedule and call:

• Every other weekend scheduling required
• Rotating call requirements with weekend call every other weekend

Experience and credentials required:

• 3 years PACU experience with recent, active experience
• ICU experience required
• Trauma Level 1 experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Additional expectations:

• Complete online education modules and unit-specific orientation
• Work with Epic EMR system
• Wear any color scrubs; must be fragrance-free
• No artificial nails or cell phone use permitted

Assignment duration is 168 days, beginning May 4, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,365.20.
