Med Surg RN Job in Parkersburg, WV

WVU Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking an RN (Registered Nurse) for a 91-day travel assignment on the Med Surg Orthopedic/Neuro unit in Parkersburg, West Virginia. You will work 3x12 nights (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with an every-other-weekend requirement, earning $2,229.12 weekly.

Unit Overview: You will work in a 33-bed unit with all private rooms, caring for patients recovering from elective surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders), fracture injuries from falls, back and neck neurosurgeries, and general medical-surgical patients. Your patient ratio will be 1:6.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage IV fluids and PCA pumps (no heparin or other drips)
• Work alongside Patient Care Techs who handle vitals, blood sugar checks, ADLs, and Foley discontinuation
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring when needed (monitored by 3rd floor)
• Subject to floating to other medical-surgical units as first priority

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps
• EPIC experience required
• Valid, unexpired driver's license

Assignment Details: You will receive a 3-day orientation: 1 day EPIC training, 1 day floor orientation with a preceptor, and 1 day of independent practice. A 30-minute lunch break is provided each shift. Royal blue scrubs are required (scrub jackets optional but must be royal blue). You may be required to work holidays depending on unit needs. Cancellation is possible for low census depending on contract terms.
