Med Surg RN Job in Oconto, WI

Bellin Health Oconto is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on the Medical-Surgical/Swing Bed unit. You will work the night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, on a 3x12 schedule with guaranteed 36 hours per week. This is a 91-day contract beginning June 22, 2026.

About the Role

You will be assigned to a 10-bed Med Surg/Swing Bed unit within an 18-bed critical access facility. At times you will work independently as the only RN on the unit, supported by 1 LPN and 2 CNAs. The unit manages inpatient, observation, swing bed, and same-day surgical recovery patients, with particular focus on orthopedic patients. Average census runs 6–8 patients with varying acuity levels.

You will have the option to float to the Emergency Department, including Med/Surg holds, though this is not required. You must be comfortable drawing your own labs and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Schedule and Requirements

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• 8-hour unbillable orientation required
• Scrub colors: prints or solids
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• AHA BLS certification
• AHA ACLS certification
• Minimum 2+ years inpatient Med Surg experience
• Minimum 1 previous travel contract
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Prior critical access hospital experience preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Weekly pay is $2,462.40. You will receive the support and resources needed to deliver safe, quality patient care in a collaborative critical access setting.
