Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• Work within a fully functional 24/7 in-house Respiratory Therapy department
• Care areas include a 6-bed ICU, Emergency Department, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, and low-volume newborn stabilization
• Work independently or in conjunction with a second therapist
• Provide compassionate bedside care primarily to adult patients while remaining comfortable with all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics
• Responsible for newborn stabilization prior to transport and pediatric care as needed
• Routine medication delivery through invasive and noninvasive ventilator management
• May be asked to perform occasional EKGs after hours in support of the Cardiology Department
• Ability to work alone and adapt to a changing care environment
• Daily census of 12-18 patients; facility has 100 beds
• Candidates will be required to float
• Scrubs: Any color accepted
• Required skills include: Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, Extubation, Nasal and Oral Airway Placement, Oral/Nasal Suctioning, Nasal Airway Suctioning, Pulmonary Hygiene, Sputum Specimen Collection, Tracheostomy Care and Suctioning, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Troubleshooting High Pressure Alarms, Weaning from Mechanical Ventilation, and Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Medication experience required includes: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled Steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Preferred ventilator experience: Servo I, LTV, and Hamilton T1
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Community hospital experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP, and NY State License (must be in hand prior to submission)
• Additional preferred certifications: PALS, RRT, STABLE
