Medical Technologist Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health Charleston is hiring a Medical Technologist for night shift laboratory work. You'll work 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 7 on/7 off schedule, with every other weekend required. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 21, 2026, and there are no on-call responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and test patient specimens, performing both routine and specialized laboratory tests
• Execute quality control procedures and troubleshoot quality control errors
• Recognize and resolve computer data problems and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
• Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Communicate technical information to medical and non-medical personnel
• Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures
• Participate in continuing education and recognize normal and abnormal laboratory values
• Support patient care across all age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics

What You'll Need

• Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP BOC or equivalent specialty lab certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
• Experience in Chemistry required; Hematology and Chemistry experience highly preferred
