Operating Room RN Job in Petoskey, Michigan

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at McLaren Northern Michigan, supporting a full spectrum of surgical procedures and critical interventions across multiple specialties.

Role Overview

Your responsibilities include assisting with general elective surgeries, orthopaedic cases, endovascular procedures, urology, and obstetric interventions. You'll work alongside surgeons and surgical teams to ensure patient safety and procedural success, whether managing routine cases or life-saving emergencies.

Schedule and Staffing

• 5×4 day shifts (10-hour days)
• Hours: 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM with non-consecutive working days
• Random Monday–Friday days off
• One weeknight on-call per week (7:00 PM to 11:00 PM)
• One rotating weekend on-call per month (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday; hours vary 7:00 PM–7:00 AM or 7:00 AM–7:00 PM)

Requirements

• Current Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• 2+ years of RN operating room experience
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application
• Experience preferred in orthopaedics, general surgery, endovascular, urology, or obstetrics

Expectations

You must maintain strict attendance. The facility enforces a three-strike policy for absences or arriving more than 20 minutes late, which results in immediate termination. Reliability and punctuality are essential to team operations.

Contract Details

This is a temporary contract position with a start date of June 15, 2026, for a 91-day duration. You'll be part of a surgical team delivering care across diverse procedure types in a community hospital setting.
