PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 11, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12 hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• $2,016 weekly
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week block
• One holiday per 13-week contract

Your Role

You'll care for adult and geriatric patients with a primary focus on pulmonary and GI conditions. Your patient ratio is 1:5. You'll manage cardiac monitoring, interpret and respond to dysrhythmias, administer medications including cardiac drips without titration, and provide respiratory support such as nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management. You'll perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and care for central and peripheral lines. You may work without CNA support and will participate in rapid response and code teams using isolation precautions as needed.

Floating within skillset to other PCU or medical/surgical units is required.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown settings
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience required

Support

You'll receive 32 hours of orientation to help you transition into the role and facility.
