Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract on the Medical-Surgical unit. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM on a 3x12 schedule with guaranteed 48 hours per week. Overtime is available after 48 hours worked.

Schedule and Staffing

• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Low census policy allows shift reductions in 4-hour increments, up to 36 unbillable hours per contract

Unit Details

You will work on the Medical and Pediatrics unit treating adult patients only; travelers do not care for pediatric patients. Typical patient ratios are 1:4–5 on day shifts and 1:6–7 on night shifts.

Clinical Focus

You will manage a wide range of acute conditions including respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal.

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Expectations

You must be able to work independently, manage tasks in a timely manner, collaborate effectively with team and ancillary staff, and maintain a positive attitude with flexibility during shift changes. Any scrub color is acceptable.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,377.08. The contract begins August 31, 2026, and runs for 91 days.
