About this role
IU Health Riley Hospital for Children is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its pediatric respiratory and neuro diagnostics team in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Assignment Details
- Schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, nights, with every other weekend required
- Duration: 91 days
- Start date: September 21, 2026
- Weekly pay: $2,766
- Primary unit assignment: NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics Acute Care (determined upon arrival based on facility need)
- You may float between NICU, PICU, Pediatrics Acute Care, and affiliate hospitals as needed
Requirements
- Current Indiana state license (temporary license accepted if permanent application is submitted)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Children's Hospital experience within the last 3 years
- PICU experience required; Level 1 adult ICU experience considered
- L&D experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and RRT
- PALS certification preferred
- Respiratory education program must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
- First-time travelers accepted
Clinical Skills and Experience
You will care for neonatal, infant, and pediatric patient populations. Required competencies include aerosol setup, BiPAP, CPAP, extubation, arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation, nitric oxide (iNO) delivery, pediatric critical care management, tracheostomy care and management, mechanical ventilation weaning, pulmonary hygiene, oral airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, and Servo U ventilator operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cerner charting system
