RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in 4Heart Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPC) on E4 floor of Heart Tower
• 1:5 patient ratio for registered nurses
• Care for cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients including open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and medical cardiology overflow patients
• 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Stepdown and telemetry experience required
• Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery experience preferred
• CVICU experience preferred
• Float to any stepdown unit (1:5 ratios), medical-surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
• Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) required per 6-week schedule period
• No on-call requirements
• Must be flexible to work holidays
• Dress code: All navy, white tops with navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Work with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts, and Cerner EMR system
• Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management
• Must be a team player who enjoys fast-paced environments and demonstrates flexibility
