Respiratory Therapist Job in Grand Forks, ND

You will work as a Respiratory Therapist in the NICU department at Altru in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This is a 13-week contract assignment running 3x12 rotating shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week, starting April 27, 2026.

Your responsibilities include:

• Perform and document patient evaluations and assessments in the NICU
• Provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatments and physician assistance
• Deliver appropriate patient and family education and support
• Identify significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate action
• Complete pain assessments according to standard operating procedures
• Handle all documentation including order entry, EMR, medication charting, and incident reports
• Process patient charges and verify reports as needed
• Maintain respiratory equipment through cleaning, assembly, and preventative maintenance
• Transport infants to and from referral health systems
• Provide high-quality critical care according to organizational guidelines

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
• Recent travel experience required, preferably 3 completed assignments
• North Dakota or Minnesota Respiratory Therapist license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• All certifications must be obtained prior to start date

Compensation: Weekly pay is $2,721.60.
