Respiratory Therapist Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the NICU and pediatric service lines at Mission Hospital in Asheville. This is a 91-day travel assignment on nights, working 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

About the Role

You'll provide respiratory care across a 51-bed Level 3 NICU, a 10-bed PICU, and a 20-bed pediatric floor. Your responsibilities include airway and ventilator management, intubation and extubation, high-risk delivery support, and capillary and arterial blood gas collection and analysis. You may float to general adult medical floors as needed. Patient ratios typically range from 10–25 patients, with 3–4 RRTs staffing the NICU/pediatric service lines on nights.

Requirements

• Current North Carolina respiratory license required before submission
• RRT certification (CRTs are not acceptable)
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• ACLS and NPS preferred

Equipment & Systems

You'll work with Draeger infant and pediatric ventilators, HFOV, Infant Flow SiPAP, Newport HT70, Hamilton T1 and C1 transport ventilators, and Vapotherm. The facility uses Cerner for electronic medical records.

Schedule & Compensation

This assignment runs 91 days, starting April 6, 2026. You'll work nights with a varying weekend schedule requiring at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle. Weekly pay is $1,971. Medium gray or pewter scrubs are required.
