PCU Registered Nurse Job in Lafayette, IN

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Cardiac and Medical PCU - True ICU Stepdown unit
• 18 months of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Weekend shifts required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Patient ratios: 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Available shift options: 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week for 8 and 10-hour shifts, 36 hours for three 12-hour shifts, 48 hours for four 12-hour shifts
• Floating within hospital or to affiliate hospitals is 100% required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Indiana state license must be in hand prior to start date
• Must be comfortable with telemetry, IV starts, cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP and high flow oxygen
• Level I, II, III, or IV certification required
• Experience with vents, charge nurse duties, and conscious sedation preferred
• Care for patients with heart caths, cardiac drips including Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, and Amio
• Manage adult and geriatric patients in 27-bed unit
• Use Cerner charting system
• Dress code: red scrub top with black bottoms
