Med Surg RN Job in Hastings, NE

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 30-bed Med Surg unit at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 11, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM). Your weekly pay is $2,102.40.

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6 with an average census of 20
• Weekend requirements generally every 3rd weekend, with flexibility based on unit needs
• Holiday requirements every 3rd holiday; expect to work one winter holiday
• May float to PCU for med-surg overflow or low acuity PCU patients
• No call or standby requirements

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients with dementia, post-surgical conditions, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, and cancer
• Work with 2–3 nurse aides and monitor techs for telemetry
• No drip titration required
• Preferred experience with chest tubes, pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required; you may work charge if experienced
• RT equipment is available with respiratory therapist management

Requirements & Onboarding

• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Two days nursing department orientation plus one day on the floor
• EPIC charting system
• Must work within a 50-mile radius
• Dress code: solid color scrubs with no patterns or designs
