RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6 on a 30-bed unit with average census of 20
• Weekend requirements generally every 3rd weekend with flexibility based on needs
• Holiday requirements every 3rd holiday, expect to work one winter holiday
• May float to PCU for med-surg overflow or low acuity PCU patients
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred experience with chest tubes, pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required - may work charge if experienced
• Care for patients with dementia, post-surgical conditions, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, and cancer
• No drip titration required
• No call or standby requirements
• Work with nurse aids (generally 2-3 on unit) and monitor techs for telemetry
• RT equipment available with respiratory therapist management
• Dress code requires solid color scrubs with no patterns or designs
• Two days nursing department orientation plus one day on the floor
• Use EPIC charting system
• Must work within 50-mile radius requirement
