Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - Med Surg Tele</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• 8-week backfill assignment starting ASAP<br>• 12-hour orientation required<br>• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends<br>• 24-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients<br>• Every other holiday coverage required<br>• Weekend coverage required<br>• Float to all other inpatient units as needed (agency nurses are pulled first)<br>• Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling<br>• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required<br>• Must live more than 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)<br>• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope<br>• Handle med-surg overflow patients including GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, and COVID positive cases<br>• Perform pre/post cath lab care, PPM/AICD procedures, ablations, post-op CABG, post-op thoracotomy, vascular surgeries, AAA repair<br>• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin<br>• Perform bedside sheath pulling<br>• Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs<br>• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management<br>• Epic charting system experience required<br>• Louisiana or Compact nursing license required upon submittal<br>• NURSYS report required with profile (must be within 4 weeks of submission)<br>• Must agree to participate in "Emergency Team" assignments during facility emergencies<br>• Strict no call-in policy enforced</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This healthcare facility operates a 24-bed medical surgical telemetry unit that provides comprehensive cardiac and medical care services.
