NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend availability required based on unit needs
• Holiday availability required based on unit needs
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float; travelers required to float to like units within the valley (Nampa NICU and Boise NICU) for like assignments
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Level 2B NICU caring for patients 32 weeks gestation and greater
• Common diagnoses include premature infants =32 weeks, late preterm, sepsis, hypoglycemia, patients requiring oxygen (nasal cannula, high flow nasal cannula, CPAP), NOWS/NAS, and feeding difficulties
• Must have delivery room high-risk resuscitation experience, IV start, and lab draw experience
• May initiate and provide short-term management of titratable drips including Dopamine and Epinephrine prior to transport to higher level of care
• CPAP used routinely; ventilators available for emergencies
• Charting system: EPIC
• Blue scrubs provided on unit
• Customized orientation of typically 2-3 shifts
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE, and Cardiac STABLE
