About this role
ADEX Healthcare Staffing is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for a 119-day travel assignment at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. You'll work Friday through Sunday nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, on a 3x12 schedule earning $2,049.84 weekly.
Role Overview
You'll manage a high-volume ICU caseload with 13–15 patients per shift, handling approximately 550 minutes of clinical work each shift. Your responsibilities include mechanical ventilation management, intubation as a first-line responder, arterial line placement, blood gas interpretation, bronchoscopy assistance, bedside PFTs, chest physiotherapy, and respiratory treatments including nebulizers, BiPAP, CPAP, and Vapotherm delivery. You may manage up to 4 airways per therapist in ICU assignments.
Required Qualifications
- RRT credential (required; critical care experience mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience and 1 completed travel contract
- 300+ bed hospital experience
- Georgia state respiratory therapy license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (NRP if assigned to NICU)
- Comfort with intubation and advanced airway management
- Ability to read and interpret ABGs and manage ventilator strategies
Clinical Focus
You'll treat patients with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancer-related respiratory complications. The facility uses Servo ventilators (U and I models) and Meditech EMR systems.
Facility & Logistics
- 300+ bed teaching hospital
- Clock-in window: 6:38 PM–6:46 PM (tardiness policy enforced)
- Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs and ceil blue jacket
- No on-call responsibilities
- Holiday rotation with permanent staff (every other holiday observed)
- Cancellation requirement: 12 hours every 2 weeks
- 75-mile radius requirement
