Occupational Therapist Job in Galveston, TX

UTMB Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a 12-week contract assignment. You will work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week on day shifts with no weekend commitment.

Schedule & Compensation

• 5x8 day shifts with two flexible start options: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with one hour lunch, or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with 30 minutes lunch (schedule determined during interview)
• Guaranteed set hours per week; note that the unit closes during holidays
• Weekly pay: $2,448
• Assignment duration: 12 weeks, starting June 8, 2026

Your Role

You will evaluate, develop, coordinate, and implement occupational therapy interventions for patients in an acute care setting. You will serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that occupational therapy services meet legal, ethical, and institutional standards while adhering to department and organizational policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program
• Current Texas occupational therapy license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
• Certified Hand Therapy (CHT) certification
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association

Onboarding

You will complete HCSS virtual new employee orientation and in-patient Epic training at the Galveston campus prior to or upon arrival.
