Opportunity:
Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
• Administer safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by physicians with emphasis in specialty areas including Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Administer respiratory medications and perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpret results
• Perform effective airway management including bag/mask ventilation and assist physicians with intubation
• Demonstrate safe and appropriate suction techniques and use of artificial airways
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory care instruments and equipment including all cardiopulmonary equipment
• Interpret flow volumes and pressure volume curves to initiate appropriate clinical changes
• Translate medication into neonatal and pediatric doses using proper equipment and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures
• Verify physician orders for respiratory care and maintain accurate patient records
• Participate in department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory meetings
• Assist in orientation and training of new employees and respiratory/nursing students
• Adhere to dress code in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
• Required certifications: BLS (must be obtained within 90 days of hire), Neonatal Resuscitation Program - NRP (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
• Must hold Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential per NBRC guidelines
• Must be a graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care Program
• Minimum 1 year of RRT experience with knowledge in General Respiratory Care and Mechanical Ventilation required
• Pulmonary diagnostics experience preferred
• Cardiac diagnostics experience preferred (EKG, Holter monitor, Event Monitor, Cardiac Stress Testing)
