Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - PCU Stepdown</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour shifts: Days 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or Nights 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM<br>• Unit schedulers will create traveler schedules<br>• Every other weekend requirement<br>• Holiday shifts as needed to meet unit needs<br>• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 on 33-bed stepdown unit<br>• Care for young adults through geriatrics with conditions including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and complex medical issues<br>• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin<br>• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently<br>• May float to Medical-Surgical, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care units<br>• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS<br>• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius<br>• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs<br>• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination<br>• Must pass open book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation<br>• First week classroom orientation followed by 2 twelve-hour floor shifts<br>• Experience with EPIC charting system<br>• Handle busy patient flow with admissions and discharges within same shift while completing hourly rounding and bedside report</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This acute care facility operates a 33-bed progressive care stepdown unit that serves patients with complex medical conditions requiring close monitoring and specialized nursing care. The facility utilizes EPIC charting systems and maintains modern respiratory equipment including BiPAP and Airvo systems.
