ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Lower acuity ICU with a typical patient ratio of 2-4 patients at a time
• Some patients in the unit may be MedSurg, telemetry, or stepdown level of care
• Daily census of 6 beds in the ICU unit
• May float to MedSurg as needed
• Self-scheduling unit
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, metabolic encephalopathies, DKA, A-fib with RVR, COPD, CHF, and respiratory failure
• Required skills include ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, blood product administration, and CVA/acute stroke management
• Additional skills required include managing ports, PICC line management, IV insulin protocols, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, TPN/lipids, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must be located more than 65 miles from the facility address
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS
• AHA certifications required
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal
