SLP Job in Plantation, FL

You will work as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the speech therapy department at HCA Florida Westside Hospital in Plantation, FL. This is a day shift position running 5 days per week, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no call requirements.

Your Role

You will manage a full caseload of approximately 10–12 patients in an acute care setting serving primarily adult and geriatric populations. You will work independently with a team of 5 current SLPs and limited training support available. Your clinical responsibilities include:

• Performing Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) evaluations and treatments
• Conducting swallow evaluations for post-extubation, stroke protocol, pneumonia, failure to thrive, and altered mental status cases
• Performing speech and language evaluations and treatments
• Providing dysphagia treatment and management

Required Qualifications

You must hold a Florida Speech-Language Pathology License (provisional licenses are not accepted) and current CCC-SLP certification. BLS certification through American Heart Association is required. You must be fully proficient and experienced in performing MBS procedures and comfortable working independently in an acute care environment with adult and geriatric patient populations.

Work Environment

You will use MBS/fluoro equipment and the Meditech documentation system. Light grey scrubs are preferred; any solid color scrubs are acceptable. This assignment runs for 91 days, beginning June 1, 2026.

Compensation

You will earn $2,044 per week.
