About this role
You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, Vermont. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 17, 2026, with 11.5-hour night shifts at $2,384.64 per week.
Your Role
You'll coordinate comprehensive nursing care for patients on telemetry monitoring, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5. The unit averages a daily census of 22 patients. Your responsibilities include patient and family teaching, electronic documentation via Cerner EMR, and collaboration with the healthcare team. You may be asked to serve as backup Charge Nurse and to float to other units—including Acute Rehab and Med Surg—within your scope of practice.
Scheduling and Requirements
- 11.5-hour night shifts with every-other-weekend and holiday availability as needed
- No 48-hour guarantee available for this position
- 8 hours of non-billable orientation
- All scheduling requests must be submitted at time of acceptance; block scheduling will not be considered
- Maximum of 5 days of requested time off accepted
- Call-offs must be reported to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance; a 3-strike policy applies, with contract termination possible after 3 call-offs
Qualifications
- Current Vermont RN license or compact license required
- Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg and Rehab experience
- Charge RN experience required
- At least 3 months of previous travel nursing experience
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Personal vehicle required—Windsor is a small community without public transportation
