Physical Therapist Acute Care Job in San Angelo, TX

Shannon Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist for acute care services in San Angelo, Texas. You'll work a 5x8 days schedule with an 91-day contract starting May 18, 2026, earning $2,678.40 weekly.

Your Role

You'll provide acute care physical therapy services to adult and geriatric patient populations, treating approximately 12 patients per day within a daily census of 95. You'll be responsible for patient assessments, treatment planning, and therapy delivery across multiple acute care conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions
• Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education
• Treat conditions including cervicalgia, low back pain, post-operative care (cervical surgery, shoulder repair, spinal surgery), spinal conditions, and total hip/knee replacements
• Work with patients experiencing cognitive disorders, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Document treatment in EPIC EMR system
• Work 3-6 rotating weekend shifts per contract

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy
• BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care or relevant clinical rotation
• Comfort working in fast-paced acute care settings
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Completion of required lab items within 72 hours of accepting offer

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing facility settings
• Prior travel assignment experience

First-time travelers with prior acute care clinical rotation experience are encouraged to apply. Travel experience is highly preferred.
