Job Details:

• Provide assistance and support to surgeons during surgical procedures in the Operating Room
• Work under surgeon supervision to facilitate safe, effective, and orderly operating room environment
• 0.9 FTE position with varied day start times and shift lengths Monday through Friday
• Work mix of 8-hour and 4-hour or 6-hour shifts with potential to flex up to 1.0 FTE based on unit needs
• On-call responsibilities from 3:15 PM to 6:30 AM on weekdays plus 24-hour coverage for weekends and holidays
• Typically 4-5 call shifts per month with weekend on-call requirements
• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
• Prepare and provide instruments and equipment during surgical procedures
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments during procedures
• Secure and prepare all supplies and instruments required before procedures
• Ensure preparation and maintenance of sterile field in the OR
• Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment and assist with patient positioning
• Help monitor patients during surgery and provide supportive care during pre-operative phase
• Handle specimens correctly and route to proper source
• Two years current experience required in large OR setting
• Must be team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast-paced environment
• Ortho, ENT, and/or vascular experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED required plus completion of Surgical Technician training program
• BLS certification required through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• CST certification through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery certification NCCT preferred
• Epic experience preferred but not required
