Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech

Job Details:

• Work 4 ten-hour shifts per week totaling 40 hours
• Day/Evening shift from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Function as vital member of OR team assuming responsibility for scrub position during surgical interventions
• Maintain safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices according to AORN Standards
• Must be proficient in surgical procedures across a variety of services
• Demonstrate knowledge of various surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Assist team members by setting up and maintaining sterile field
• Demonstrate proper use of instruments, suture and stapling devices
• Follow appropriate procedures for obtaining, returning, cleaning, and disposing of equipment
• Prepare according to surgeon preference card and procedure requirements
• Accurately perform all sponge, needle and instrument counts at appropriate times
• Save and properly identify all specimens according to department policy
• Handle emergency situations effectively
• Required certifications: BLS
• Must be graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology
• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist license required
• National Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists required
