Occupational Therapist Home Health Job in Sarasota, FL

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for home health with BayCare HomeCare Inc. in the Sarasota and Charlotte County area of Florida. This is a travel position with a 140-day contract starting May 18, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour days
• Weekly pay: $2,476.80
• Work setting: Home-based visits with 6–8 patients daily (minimum 6 points per day)
• Self-schedule visits and hours according to office needs

Your Role

You will perform skilled occupational therapy home visits for adult and geriatric patients. Patient populations include those with medical/surgical conditions, cardiac issues, orthopedic injuries, post-surgical recovery, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, falls, Parkinson's disease, respiratory conditions, neurological disorders, and ADL limitations.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Activities of daily living training and assessment
• Cardiac rehabilitation and edema massage
• Feeding techniques, splinting, TENS, and ultrasound therapy
• Orthopedic care, prosthetics, and orthotics knowledge
• Joint mobilization and home exercise program development
• Safe lifting, transfer techniques, and patient/family education
• Standardized assessment administration
• Safety and injury prevention

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience (2 years preferred); must be independent practitioner
• Home health experience required; OASIS training preferred
• Florida license or compact license at time of submission
• Current BLS certification
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for home visits
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Laptop, MiFi for internet access, and portable printers. You will use BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet systems. Forty hours of orientation are included. Dress code is any solid color scrubs.
