PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Charge experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Block scheduling available
• Every other weekend requirement
• Guaranteed hours up to 36 hours per week
• Patient ratios: PICU 1:2; Pediatric floor 1:4; ventilated patients typically 1:1
• Charge nurse typically carries no patient assignment
• May assist with checking off and orienting PICU trainees as a secondary assignment
• Float within scope to NICU and Pediatrics as needed to meet facility needs
• No on-call required
• Patient age groups include neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy
• Must be culturally sensitive to Native population
• Alaska nursing license required; compact license accepted at time of submittal but AK license must be obtained prior to start
