About this role

You will provide pre- and post-care for invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular patients in the Cath Lab Holding unit at Sutter Health Medical Center Sacramento. This is a 91-day travel assignment running 4x10 days per week, with shift start times varying between 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, and 10:30 AM. Monday through Friday scheduling with varying days off offers predictable planning.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage patients with a 3:1 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends
  • Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, including sheath removal and TR band management
  • Manage cardiac drips, pacemakers, and TAVR procedures
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and perform cardiac telemetry monitoring
  • Administer oxygen via nasal cannula and manage oxygen therapy
  • Start and maintain peripheral and central lines
  • Support post-MI and post-cardiac angiogram patient care
  • Collaborate with rapid response and code teams as needed
  • Chart in Epic and maintain accurate patient documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • Current California RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU, Telemetry, or Post-Cath patient care experience
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA or ARC)
  • Epic charting experience
  • Strong clinical background in ICU and/or Progressive Care (preferred)
  • Previous charge nurse experience (preferred)
  • Two professional references obtained within the last year

Essential Clinical Skills: Cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions and PPE, pacemaker management, peripheral line care, IV initiation and maintenance, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, post-cardiac procedure care, and rapid response team coordination.

Support Services: You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. This assignment serves an adults-only patient population.

Compensation: $3,240.86 per week. Start date: August 18, 2026.
