PCU Registered Nurse Job in Fishersville, VA

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Provide nursing care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems
• Care for patients with cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, pulmonary and other conditions
• Coordinate direct patient care and education as an RN
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratio
• Work every other Saturday, off every Sunday
• 24 hours of orientation required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must be comfortable with accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, CVA care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, telemetry monitoring, insulin drip titration, tracheostomy care, and wound care
• Use Meditech charting system
• Wear black or Caribbean blue scrubs
• Work with special equipment including Sara Steady, Tenor, Maxi Move, Air Taps, bladder scanner, and vein finder
• Handle insulin drips for DKAs, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, ablations, and cardioversions
• Must live 50+ miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Zero tolerance policy for THC, medical marijuana cards not accepted
• Fit testing required, must shave for fit test unless medical exemption approved
