Pediatrics RN Job in Parkersburg, WV

WVU Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for a pediatrics position in Parkersburg, WV. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 12-bed pediatrics med-surg/stepdown unit in an acute care setting.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12 night shifts weekly
• Minimum every third weekend; additional weekends as needed
• Holiday shifts as needed
• On-call or standby requirement as needed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with ratios typically 1:4 by age, with potential 1:6 for adult post-op patients
• Care for common pediatric diagnoses including hyperbilirubinemia, respiratory issues, RSV, cellulitis, and patients on IV antibiotics
• Administer IV fluids and possible insulin drips; drip titration not commonly required
• Assist with IV placement and perform outpatient lab collection and straight catheterization on unit
• May float to the post-partum and mother-baby unit or assist ED staff as needed
• Monitor respiratory equipment; nurses do not manage ventilators on this unit

Support and Environment

• Charge nurse and house supervisor available on unit
• Patient care tech or additional RN support depending on census
• Respiratory therapy manages equipment
• EPIC charting system
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Unit orientation typically 2–3 days

Requirements

• RN license
• BLS (AHA) certification
• PALS (AHA) certification
• NRP preferred
• Valid driver's license
• BSN not required

Assignment duration is 91 days, beginning September 16, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,436.48.
