Histology Technician

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within histology specialty required
• ASCP (HT/HLT) certification required
• Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences required
• Receive specimens from surgery and accession specimens into Cerner
• Collect blocks from PA staff and process tissue
• Perform embedding, cutting, and staining of slides
• Work within a department that includes Pathology, Cytology, and IHC
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
• Must work 1 minor holiday: the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve
