Med Surg RN Job in Geneva, NY

Finger Lakes Health Geneva General Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical unit. You will work 36 hours per week on a rotating 3x12 shift schedule, including day, night, weekend, and holiday coverage, plus two on-call shifts every four weeks. This is a 96-week travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026.

Your Role:

• Provide direct nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions
• Assess patient and family needs, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate care delivery across the team
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions as required by patient acuity and condition
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on self-care management and discharge planning
• Promote patient comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment
• Document patient care, interventions, and education accurately and thoroughly
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and self-evaluation of nursing practice

Requirements:

• Current New York State RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical-Surgical environment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or RQI only)
• NIHSS certification
• Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens reasonably anticipated
