ED Registered Nurse Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning July 7, 2026.

Schedule and Duration

• 4x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation
• Every other holiday coverage as needed
• 91-day contract

Role Details

You will manage a 1:5 patient ratio, treating adults and geriatrics presenting with all emergency diagnoses. Floating within your skillset is required. Your clinical responsibilities include IV therapy with blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV vasopressor management, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management. You will provide emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma. Additional competencies include cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation, CVA/stroke management, neuro-trauma care, spinal cord injury and TBI management, pediatric spinal cord injury care, isolation precautions, and triage.

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license (non-Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• EPIC charting experience required
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are ineligible

Additional Information

Scrub color is any combination of navy blue and white. Equipment available includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment. You may request no more than 10 days of RTO (request time off) upon submission. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,939.06.
