ED Registered Nurse Job in Olney, MD

MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 14, 2026, offering 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a weekly pay of $1,945.30.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting serving patients across all age groups—infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. With a 4:1 patient ratio, you will manage triage, emergency medications, procedural sedation, IV management, blood product administration, ventilator care, and central line management. Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Experience and Credentials Required

• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency nursing experience within the last 7 years
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed
• General emergency department experience with combined adult and pediatric patients
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Successful completion of the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system
• Compact or Maryland nursing license

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior charge nurse experience
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification

Clinical Skills

You will demonstrate competency in isolation precautions and PPE, starting and maintaining IVs, emergency medication administration, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and central line care and management.
