PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed
• Contract end date falls on Sunday, not Saturday
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float requirements include all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Low census policy allows for shift reductions in hour increments; unit typically reduces shifts in 4-hour increments
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• 22-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes stable and weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Primary patients and insulin drips management required
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required; stepdown, intermediate, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Ventilator/trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Scrub colors: any color
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, adaptable to change, able to work independently, and able to complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
